So, I just replayed this game yesterday and noticed I never saw before. I don't know how I could have missed something like this since it's dead obvious.

Remember the screen in the mainframe that has the documents (inf_log) labelled: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 0, F, 7? I just realised that these refer to the Submachines present at the time the game was made. The fact that we can't access the document labelled 7 further supports this.

This could mean something important, but then again maybe not...

what are you talking about?

I think it is just reference to all Subgames that were released at the moment of Sub6 came. Binary codes in that pattern logs say "Submachine 1: The Basement", etc.

I think there's nothing important. :)

i know, but i find it strange that the reference is found inside the game itself, rather than like in sub4/sub5's secret comments about the game.
the other possibility is that Submachine defsys are aware that we are in a game, and that looks equally strange. so i don't know XD

i won't deny that it looks strange too. but that only acknowledges the existence of a secret location inside a game, not eight entire games XD

Subnet was recording player moviments.

What its more bugging is the existence of a 7th archive unfinished archive. Was Subnet expecting player to reach the Core?

EDIT: I think this section of the game is an easter egg, what other easter eggs are in the Subs?

if the history secret note from Sub9 is true, that could just mark the player's progress in his trip, i think.
the most likely option is that Mateusz just added it there, for some reason.

i'd say it depends on what you consider an easter egg.

Well, I think Sub8's Sector 9 thing is an easter egg, just becuase it took me by surprise.

That's what I was thinking...

But this is different from Sub8's Sector 9 easter egg because we don't gain any information. In that easter egg we learn that there are sectors in the sub and that we are in the ninth one. Here, we learn nothing...

This "easter egg" could be compared much more easily to Cover Front 4's submachine references, but even then, it's exactly what Vortex was saying: it's a reference to the games (not what happens in them) inside the game.

But what if the chronological naming of the game (Sub 1, 2, 3, 4...) is more than just something to help players? What there really is a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Submachine? It's unlikely, but I can't find any other explanation.
