My only thought is to feed them bread from the lab bedroom, next to the bed.

If that failed, then maybe transport them to the 8th layer of light.
I only think of that because of this:

Does anyone know where they first arrived?
A specific set of Coordinate will be needed.
We've been looking at the this the wrong way, no matter how many times we kill the weeds, they just grow back.

We need to find the source, and pull it from the roots.
