Re: Science thread
Okay, then can you calculate this one for me.
I know the composition of the internal structure of the earth consist of the Crust, the Mantel, as well as the inner core and the outer core.
Can you, calculate how much gravity would come from the the mass the Outer Core would produce. Simply as if the mantel and the crust does not exit yet?
But the Crust exist on the edge of the outer Core?
Again....I am horrible at math, particularly when it comes the the math above the simple algebra. (And I simply don't have the time.) But seeing your response yields that you can help me out OnyxIonVortex?
Here a link to the Wikipedia page.
The first paragraph give the mass.
Or at least what to start with. Cause I don't know the actual mass of the Outer core and it actual mass only a theory within itself.

The outer core alone?WorldisQuiet5256 wrote:Okay, then can you calculate this one for me.

The Wikipedia page gives the thickness, I researched its mean density to calculate the mass.
In the surface of the outer core that gives a gravity of 9.36 m/s^2, it's pretty similar to the standard gravity of Earth on its surface (9.8 m/s^2). If you add the inner core's mass the result doesn't change much, 9.92 m/s^2, even more similar.

Re: Science thread
But...would the gravity be a bit less? My point being is that if the mass is smaller, would it not have less gravity? Such as example being the moon, we weight less, but we still remain within its gravitational pull?
Cause, my idea is base around the idea that there was less gravity, due to this fact, but that there was still life. I simply would like to know if that being the case.
Cause...what if water dehydrated, it would actually carry more dirt up? Or just earth resources just in general?

Re: Science thread
There are two effects: the gravity decreases because there is less mass, of course, but also increases because the outer core's surface is nearer the center (has smaller radius). In this case those two effects compensate giving a gravity similar to the original.

Re: Science thread
And you just confirmed my theory! Do tell me, has anyone seen James Cameron Avatar?
Despite the most stupid graphic effects, do tell me: How long has that giant Tree been around?
My point on this fact that say, the was life on the earlier version of earth, upon a a surface with less gravitation forces and all of the trees grew "uninterrupted".
Now...all trees have internal "Caves". To which then the "Trees" turned to "columns" and that creates a sort of "Air Pocket".
To which the then mantel is formed and the "New" crust of the earth follows. Then 2 "Caves" become "tether" and the "Location" depicted near the end of the Story in Journey to the center of the Earth.

Okay...it stupid I know. And I don't know a Damn thing about Trigonometry.
But...I also know as a fact we don't know how the "Earth" was created. Or at least in full and true detail.
The only reason I "think" it may exist, is because:
A. Jules Vern Wrote it.
B. Everything come from somewhere else. Weather its material for a house, or a inspiration for a story.
Now... I simple bring up the one fact about the Journey to the Center of the Earth persevere or still make it possible is this: The character were on this trip simple cause they found a note saying someone been there before.
And again, I said I don't know a damn thing about the whole concept of trigonometry, but I do know this: they entered the caves in Iceland through the top of an extinguish volcano, and they came back out of another volcano located on one of the island if Italy. And the only thing they used to know their sense of direction was a simple compass.
And the caves they traverses, I think they were the insides of a tree that was fossilizes. And the Sea and lands mention, they are the "surface" of the original earth near or between the surface of the mantel and outer core.

So I was thinking: THIS is a color that doesn't exist in reality, but that is synthesized by our own brains when two distant wavelengts of the visible spectrum (Red and Blue/Purple) are emitted congruently.

Should we bring up the argument of whether your red and blue is the same as my red and blue

Well that's the thing, I can't describe it to you.
