Well we do know that people have been doing the same things as us at least up to sub 6.

Actually, we don't. The possibility is still there that we were right behind Murtaugh up until we entered that large karma portal at the end of sub7, changed the direction of everything and traveled into the future.

Which makes me continue to believe that we are either being followed or we are following someone.

What makes you think that somebody is following us?

We probably are not aware of their presence and they are not aware of ours.

Agreed, except that we are The Player so whether we are aware of their presence or not is dependent of us (The Player).

We know people have gone through the submachine network before us. But are we the first to actually get past the Edge? I think so. I think the showdown between Murtaugh and Elizabeth happened in a very much different way, there was no needed invasion of the core. I think Murtaugh just simply returned. The defenses were added afterwards to ward off people from attempting to replicate what Murtaugh did.

The note in Sub6 reads "You aren't the first and you wont be the last" so are we the destiny player, the one who will do something glorious, or are we like the others? Replaceable? I just think of that note in Sub8, "i've never seen a beam of light bend like that" what if that note was written in real time, by someone who is following us and they are witnessing our actions. But cannot directly see us acting.

Now in Sub9 we see these white energy lines, and we find out that is a person interacting with the environment. But they are going a different route, than we are. They are coming out of a different source than we did. What if that is them? The one who was following us, and now we are following them?

I thought of something interesting. The machine at the bottom of Temple, were we get the 8th navigator Button. Its a Nut Cracker. Only instead of walnuts its Wisdom Crystals. And instead of cracking nuts to get the core, we are splitting the Atom to make the 8th Navigator Button that would actually Work with the navigator.

I mean, it would take allot of Power to safety cross over the Layer of Light.
