Just in case, try to use the thin rod in the hole in the chest room once more.
Mr. Stick still thinks these crevices don't need items to be inserted in them, but if you think different... Let it be so.

But now, Steve goes back to room where he awoke, takes thin rod back from cache hole...

*beep*

..comes down to CHEST ROOM and inserts rod into hole.

and again Steve can't see or hear something.

Should he check in other rooms?

Thingy in the shaft is just part of broken metal box. It is useless, just junk.

But now mr. Stick checks other rooms.

Do you mean to turn the tool around, making the whole circle?

Mr. Stick goes back to wall mechanism, and turns central part of mechanism (where strange tool got stuck).

He made the whole circle. Central part can freely rotate in both direction.
And still, nothing more happened.

There is something more in the mechanism? In the sides? If its a rail mechanism, where is the train?

Steve can't see something more in the mechanism.

And the train is right there.
Red tool, of course.

Mr. Stick moves the tool back to center...

...and at the same time mysterious thing moves under the floor again.

Oh, well. He turns central recesses on top, so they are in line with top vertical ones, and moves the tool to the end...
