My theory on that: The Iranch is either indigenous to the light void or otherwise fundamentally linked to it. This creates a distinction in how it is affected by it. Other beings, such as... well, every non-iranch really, has the rules of the void enforced upon them. So they die, the light void forbids dying, and they come back to life. The Iranch, on the other hand, obeys them. So, the light void forbids dying, and hence, the Iranch is fundamentally incompatible with death. Blowing up, being crushing, etc is just severe injury, from which it partially recovers. Because it never "died" in the first place.

I have a theory about that. Maybe the Iranch is not really a single solid being, but made up of many smaller particles joined together by some kind of force. So when it got run over be the cart or exploded, the Iranch was only scrambled and scattered all over the place, the smaller particles that it is made up of were not individually damaged, so it could just put itself back together without respawning.Blowing up, being crushing, etc is just severe injury, from which it partially recovers.
