Jump into the big hole – no, don't actually do that. Inspect yellow machine and see what lies at the bottom of that hole.

60: Let's jump into the hole!
Snarr: What?
60: Nothing, never mind. Anyway, can we look at the yellow machine over there?
Traskarz: Sure.
The four of you walk towards the yellow machine:

Snarr:What is it?
Traskarz: It's a mining machine, built before the base above existed.
You can only see so far down the hole, so you can't see its' bottom.

I doubt we can do anything with a mining machine – but ask just in case.
If the answer is no, go back to the elevator.

60: Can we do anything with the mining machine?
Taruka: Apart from its' intended purpose, I don't think so. What do you want to use it for?
60: Nothing, just asking. So can we go back to the elevator?
Taruka: Sure.

You press the top right button this time. When the door opens, you look outside:

It seems like you're in a hangar, and a flying machine is right in front of you.

60: Any idea what to do next?
Snarr: No idea.
Taruka: Well, what do you want to do?
60: I don't know. All I know is that I have to find Hygen, wherever he went, except I have no idea where he is now.
Traskarz: I think, maybe he left some things that could help you back at the base. That item that the person outside Hygen's office
gave you could help somehow.
Snarr: Maybe we can also go back and see if there's anything back at Hygen's office, since we never actually went in.
60: Hmm...
