I'm rather curious on what you think about this little vector-based drawing:

If you made it bigger, then zoomed out a lot, it would look quite good actually.

Tell me what they are meant to be, and I'll see if that's what I got.

It's a desert landscape of sorts.

it could also be waves with yellow food coloring, or hills covered in dead grass

The ones you'd find in a desert, maybe small black/brown rocks, or rubble.
Of course, it depends on what kind of desert you want.

Instead of making the drawing larger (something that I'm not sure could have easily been done), I made it more detailed:

I think it looks better, like a Martian landscape.
