I'm not saying that. But you are being slightly vague and noncommittal about some stuff :)

Describe it all then.

And critique mine? :?:

Vortex, may I have a reply regarding the Ai-gameplay issue?

Just a thought, maybe we should be in a time bubble? So from our perspective, the inside is on normal speed, and outside the bubble is running very slowly or stopped, but from outside perspective time is running normally outside, and the inside of the bubble is running very quickly, or so fast it can't be observed.
It's just if we are using some kind of tear or distortion of the space-time continuum as part of the back story, it kind of implies that both space and time would be affected.

EDIT: Just thought though, this may not really matter A) as we're might be trapped in a bubble in the void B) as it would be pretty hard to represent in terms of game play.
If we aren't in the void, just some kind of translucent bubble or force-field, we could have stationary snowflakes outside or something, to show time is stopped or very slow.
But anyway, just a suggestion.

Now that sounds interesting. And innovative, unique, logical, graphically potent and generally a good idea. You have my support.

I like that. :)
Just pointing out how most of the said bases are thought to be underground-we need to fix the setting otherwise this might get shaky.

Well, there's rather simple solution to that. A wirelessly accessible surface camera/drone/bot whose sole purpose is giving the player an idea of the surroundings.

Or cameras.
Many of them showing carnage, though.

So. What is the actual setting of the base? Underground? Above? Inside a mountain?
We can't really start going on some stuff before we get that sorted.

I think that most of the base should be underground or inside a mountain with security cameras dispersed over the surface.
As for the main obstacle for the escape I think I would prefer option 4 (the only ways out except for the emergency exit are blocked), but having distortion in certain areas wouldn't be a bad idea either.
Balance is imperative; without it, total collapse and destruction is imminent.

I outlined some options for settings a few posts back, but if we're doing it in an alternate world, they would be kind of redundant XD
I agree, inside a side of a mountain could be a good place for a setting. Isolated, secure, easy to protect, etc.
It reminds me of the US NORAD facility at Cheyenne mountain. As you can guess, it's built inside a mountain, it's designed to survive a direct hit from a nuclear missile or something.
The pictures are pretty interesting anyway, we could use some thing like it in design of the facility?

Which leads me onto another question. What are we aiming for in the design of the facility? Are we going for a down to earth, practical look, a movie set that wouldn't look out of place as the villain's hide out in an old James Bond movie, or a super high tech out of this world
underground starship Enterpise kind of thing.

Out of these options, I'd go for the first, but of course I don't really have any authority on this, so it's up to you guys?
