Said mine.
Terra Firma, and it's starting to get shakier than other sciences we have mentioned. Sentience within a cable? I'm not sure. It's overshadowing the real purpose of the game, to uncover the conspiracy/weapon.
And drawing it would be strange, as it would be on a completely different perspective, right?

Air: no problem.

The Void...submachine references and A'LLUKIN, no?
Technically, if matter is pulled into a vacuum, it would be torn apart...?
I'm running out of ideas.
Let's say if it was a void, how would the edges of the base stop? Would they fade into oblivion away from the epicentre of the accident?
What if the void was white?
Or would that count as a reference to Daymare Town?

A'LLUKIN reference not Daymare Town reference.

No. Drawing would be done from an ordinary upper-middle room perspactive, in a colour. And what do you mean by overshadowing? It would take up no more of the game than a navigator or cipher eleporter would.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss, if the old boss had been an octahedron, which they weren't.

Okay. But I still have my point.

Regarding the void?

Well, I don't even see a problem with it. A big blackness surrounding the chunk of ground that the facillity is built in should do just fine. As for the transit, either a fade-out or an abrupt ending, as if someone had physicaly scooped it ip. As for the vaquum, that would only affect gases. Solids and liquids don't exapnd under pressure. Heat consrvationg could be an issue, but..... Wait, it just struck me, if we are in a bubble universe/limbo/whatever, it would only be as large as the matter that occupies it. As such we would be surrounded not by a vacuum, but by the end of the universe.

I still think that would make the game mirror submachine or A'LLUKIN too much.

What I thought too. :|
Not in science, but looks, and that's what the player will see first.
How do we do this.... *sigh*

Right: so far we have-
1) Void
2) Force Field
3) wall of some matter blocking the way out.
4) It's all underground, and the only ways out except for the emergency exit are blocked.

Now, if we settled for something, how happy would you be for the emergency exit idea?

exactly, that's why I was confused by the vacuum XD

the boundary conditions for a finite flat universe can be of many types, but we can choose a reflective boundary (would look like a mirror), or absorptive (would look black, but it's not a vacuum because if you try to escape you get absorbed by the surface and your particles would be trapped there for eternity).
if it's curved like a sphere or a torus the thing's complicated, I don't wanna draw curved spacetime XD

well, the emergency exit is the original proposal, I think it would work well, though anything would work well if done correctly.
we don't need to be scientifically accurate (after all it's a game), but if we were to be, I'd avoid the force field thing, and the void (unless the whole facility has been ejected into space).

in my opinion, the bubble limbo idea is better than the wall of matter/emergency exit ideas, because it's more interesting and i think it fits more with the plot we seem to be constructing. but I don't really have a strong preference, and I'd be happy with whatever idea you all choose.

You're doing it again....you refuse to give your strong opinions. :?:

And what would be the look of the said bubble?

When we said limbo, I was thinking more of the base slowly warping and fading into static and fizzing colours...and occasional glimpses of the outside world.

that was my opinion, if I said another thing I would be lying.

from where, from the inside? it depends, as I said above.
