Yes, this is what we've come down to.
No seriously though, if we can't leave through the front door, we're going to need a good reason as to why not. Blocked with rubble, radiation, flooded, microchip inside the brain, as long as it makes sense. Hell, it could even be a rip in the time-space quantum continuum, as long as it fits with universe.

Yes, it's just that it's an insignifacant detail easily thougt out in five seconds. And yes, it should be a space-time tare. Do you happen to know in what time zone boingo lives?

I'm guessing somewhere in the North-Eastern Midwestern South district. No, I'm kidding, I haven't a clue what time-zone Boingo's in. I'm sorry.
I'm in GMT (Or UTC) +1.

EDIT: But yes, you're right about the obstacle things.

That means at least we are in the same time zone. Until we can as him, I think I'll go over his post histrory and check the time stamps.

Edit: My best guess would be gmt -(>~4)or something. I can't be certain, though.

Another edit: I was way off. His profile clearly states he lives in New Zealand.

Also, boingo, you haven't answered my question.
Sorry. School, and I had a big meeting to go to between that and bed.
It's an international forum, whaddaya expect?

How do I explain this...it's just a matter of which one appeals more to me. Being biased like everyone else would be anyway. :?
And I always wanted the game to be based on escape, and from that opinion, a practical simple thing preventing us from getting out. Terra firma, you know what I mean? Something solid for once.
I'm not dissing your idea. It's really good. And I can appreciate its advantages.
So let's try collaborating?
Question: This rift. Is it a 'state of limbo' or a new dimension?
Because if it's a state of limbo, I think we can work from there.
(If it is, what about 'distortion' due to this state of limbo?)

(Has anyone read "Blake and Mortimer: 'The Sarcophagi of the Sixth Continent'"?
The comic has so many similarities to what we are doing it's almost as if...well, i doubt it.)

EDIT: Ah. I think i misunderstood you. I'm fine with the idea of the rift to a certain extent, I was more edgy with the robot connections idea. Sorry.

Okay! Lets get this moving, shall we?

Well, you did write a post between my question and the request for an answer to it.

Fair point.

Yes, mos defenitely limbo.

What distortion? As an alternative to rubble and radiation?

No, the rubble and whatnot stays, but the distortion is what seems to prevent us from getting out altogether. Then there's only the problem of explaining why it doesn't go some places...

Lets say somewhere in the game we chuck a rock into one of those distorted bits.
Something really bad happens to that rock. :)

(The meeting did exist! It was for my swimming. I was just too tired to answer ;) )

What sort of distortion? Dimensional?

Destroyed into oblivion? A complete destruction of it's atomic makeup? etc.
Balance is imperative; without it, total collapse and destruction is imminent.
