We should move to another forum again!..

Now serious
Why it happens again? Can Mateusz change registration process somehow? To add log-in questions about his games for example?
Nothing's gonna change... Development of new techniques for spamming is far more advanced than of the respective coutertechniques, because of the economic interests of some inmoral developers.

We can expect no algorithmic method to last forever, everything will be eventually broken. The only thing I think we could do to definitely avoid all the spam is to implement some heuristic method; for example, "if 5 users of more report a post/user as spam, the post/user gets deleted, and only users with 10 or more unreported posts can report" is a possible one. Or maybe installing any heuristic software.
But I don't even know if that can be done in this forum with some plugin.

But mods are a heuristic method :P
I meant to say that things like disabling urls aren't gonna help in the long term.

It's not even helping in the short term. =P

It is merely making the forum a lot less enjoyable when it comes to sharing urls. Especially for discussion of other flash/online games. And chances are they'll find a way to circumvent that eventually.

O.o is THAT what brought the old forum to its knees? Considering it had 3 mods, how does Mur expect to prevent spam with none?

Yeah - On PastelForum, there was mountains of spam, so we came here.

I thought there'd be a CAPTCHA to prevent this...but...guess not....Is there a plug-in to install one? And Mateusz must be busier than usual, haven't seen him in a while on here.

He usually is very busy. I remember some stretches back on PF when he would go almost a month without logging in. And I don't blame him, either. He wants to make games, not babysit a forum and delete spam.

Not too sure why he didn't implement the captcha either...perhaps he is going on the assumption that a new forum will take a while for spambots to find...but still, shouldn't he be preparing for their inevitable arrival somehow?
