But that's not true. Take the monkey scenario-it is literally possible that infinite immortal monkeys with indestructible typewriters could all just type only the letter s for an infinite amount of time.Berty wrote:it just means that given an infinite amount of time everything will happen... don't need multiple parallel Universes

Is this the Immortal Monkeys will type Hamlet in a given time (IE 10 Million Years) theory?

Spam is spam - nothing new. Just leave it be, it'll be deleted and life goes back to normal. When you have a screenname as "eh273js".
That is a spambot, tried and true.

I love these scenarios where there are infinite immortal X with indescrutible Y for an infinite amount of time.Taalit wrote:But that's not true. That probably will stress Mateusz, since he's the only global mod here XD
Theta is right (I haven't got used to your new name yet ), an infinite amount of time is not a sufficient condition for everything to happen. That would require that the laws of this universe behave completely chaotically, and that's not right, for example the state of a system will tend to change to the most probable state (that's the basis of the increase in entropy), and even if we take huge fluctuations into account, the amount of things that can happen would be still constrained by the fundamental laws (you can't expect a faster-than-light information transfer, for example). And even then, we can't know if there will be an infinitely repeated pattern. It won't happen in almost all ("almost all" has a mathematical sense: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Almost_all) the cases, but it's definitely possible.I love these scenarios where there are infinite immortal X with indescrutible Y for an infinite amount of time.

Ah... Fair enough.
As I said, not finished the book yet. =P
It's just what I'd picked up so far.

Where can I set URL on?
Re: off topic
You can't I think. Mateusz removed it so that spammers won't spam. but you can still post the link.
